Amazing Fantasy #15
Here is where everything started, the first issue were Spider-Man appears. Just to give a quick rundown on what this is book is about: Peter Parker is a teenager who is a smart but lonely person, does not have many friends and feels left out. One day he goes to a science exhibit were he get bitten by a spider which was exposed to radiation. He finds out he has powers and goes around the city testing them out. He decides to take advantage of his powers and enters a competition were he needs to stain in the ring for three minutes with Crusher Hogan (a wrestler). He wins gets the money and decides to make web shooters and a suit. After letting a criminal he goes on with his life as Spider-Man, only to come home one day to find a cop car at his house telling him that his Uncle Ben was killed by that same robber that he let escape. He runs out of the house looking for the guy, catching many criminals in the process.
Ok, that was a lot even though it was not the most descriptive, it gives a rough idea on what the book is about. When I read this for the first time it reminded me a lot of the first Spider-Man movies starring Tobey Maguire which are probably the most accurate based on story. Now on my personal opinions, it gives a good start on the character. So later more comics can continue. But as much as I love Spider-Man this comic is not the best, I do cut it some slack because after all it was published in August of 1962. So for that time something like Spider-Man was revolutionary. But if anyone is going to read this book and expect it to be the best thing to ever be made. It is not, are you going to have a blast reading this OF COURSE but could you also have that same feeling with any other comic, yes. To end this off, it is not a bad comic but not the best, for anyone trying to learn how it all started this is a good comic.
