Today, May 15th, is a day before I turn 15. Looking back at my childhood books, I came across a special book that made exploring new places and overcoming fears special. The book overall helped me realize that growing up and changing sometimes opens opportunities to new things and new people. Not everyone may like you but you will definetly find your people, and I feel that message is very important as you get older. Wonder is a coming-of-age novel written by R.J Palacio, about a little boy, Auggie, who was born with facial difficulties and had 27 surgeries by the time he started 5th grade. He lives in New York with his Mother, Father, His sister, and Daisy, his dog. He explains how it is to be homeschooled by his mother and how he enjoys spending time at home. Auggie was exposed to middle school, and he met some children as they showed him around his school.
